Job Type: 1099 Contractor – Part-Time with possible transition to Full-Time, Hybrid option for most Tuesdays after 11 AM and most Fridays in Royal Oak, MI
Compensation: Competitive fee split

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Independent Contractor – Mental Health Therapist to join our team on a part-time basis with possible transition to full-time. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who values autonomy, professional growth, and being part of a supportive community. The ideal candidate will be EMDR-trained through an accredited EMDRIA approved program and committed to providing high-quality individual therapy.
Responsibilities
We are seeking fully licensed therapists and counselors that share our passion and align with our mission. The responsibilities of the therapist include:
- Conduct initial biopsychosocial intake assessment and provide accurate mental health diagnoses when present
- Develop and apply treatment plans, conduct individual therapy sessions (primarily adults, with optional work with adolescents pending therapist competency) through evidence-based interventions and modalities with an emphasis on EMDR, and complete client documentation in the medical record per practice guidelines in a timely fashion
- Schedule client appointments
- Consider referrals for mental health or psychiatrist evaluations and/or coordinate care when deemed appropriate as needed
- Maintain a consistent caseload (minimum of 25 client sessions per week for full-time)
- Exercise ethical conduct with all clinical responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with the practice’s policies and procedures, the applicable regulatory bodies, and clinical documentation requirements
- Maintain professional liability insurance
Qualifications
- Fully licensed in the state of Michigan (LMSW, LPC, LMFT, PhD, PsyD)
- Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
- At least 2 years of post-graduate experience providing individual therapy
- Basic trained in EMDR through an EMDRIA-accredited program
- Trauma-informed clinical approach and strong interpersonal skills
- Reliable, organized, and proficient with telehealth and EHR systems
- Must have the authority to work permanently in the U.S.
Preferred Qualities
- General understanding of outpatient therapy services, different levels of care for mental health treatment and when to refer out, community resources, and general knowledge of behavioral health documentation
- Proficient diagnostic capabilities and experience in developing and completing individualized treatment plans
- Ability to record clear, concise, and organized client notes and other required documentation in a timely manner
- Competency in scope of practice and therapy modalities, with an emphasis in EMDR
- Proficiency in exercising crisis intervention methods as needed
- Proficient with written and verbal communications, time management, organizational skills, and ability to practice therapy independently
- Interest in contributing to a collaborative and evolving practice culture
- Self-motivated and committed to continued learning and professional development
